Just like that, one month is down in our quickening spiral towards the inevitable end of the world in 2012. According to the Mayans, you're running out of time to see good, high-quality comedy, so make this week count before it's too late.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
It's that spooky time if year, when Halloween themed shows start popping up in the places you least expect. There's a particularly raucous one going down at the Steve Allen Theater this weekend, while Marc Maron is taping his podcast and hosting a new show at the Laugh Factory this week. Both should be scary good.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
The 4th isn't quite here yet, so don't skip out on some amazing comedy this week (and upcoming weekend). With the LA Fringe Festival in full swing, there are plenty of great shows to go see; not to mention the local favorites like Tiger Lily. Do it!
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
Welcome back, folks! Now that you're nice and rested, you should all be looking forward to a week full of laughs. We've got the start of the iO West comedy festival, a few stand up headliners crisscrossing the So Cal landscape, and the always amazing Jesse Miller Talk Show. Get out, get laughs, get invested.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
It's Memorial Day, which officially ushers in a summer full of BBQs, beach parties... and comedy! So why not honor the summer tradition with some amazing shows this week. Adam Carolla, Aries Spears, BILLY CONNOLLY?! Not to mention a few long-time great shows, like Sit N' Spin, to keep you satiated as the summer swings into full gear.
Of Montreal Take The Avalon! 5/14/11
If you're worried that you've lost your sense of childlike wonder, and you're just a shriveled up brittle cocoon of adult responsibilities and obligations, fear not! Go see an Of Montreal show. No prior knowledge of the band is necessary. You do not need to own their T-shirts or albums or even know that they are not in fact from Montreal (They’re from Georgia). All you need is a willingness to clap your hands and jump up and down. Oh yes and a propensity for suspending disbelief.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
Hannibal Buress continues to crush stages across the Southland, with more shows this week than we can list here. One of them, though, is Sunday night at the Improv in Irvine, which is putting on an absolute clinic on how to book shows. Gas being what it is, better grab some friends to make the ride to Irvine.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
Despite all the good stuff happening this week, you just can't overlook the juggernaut that is Laugh Your @$$ Off, this Saturday at the Alex Theatre. Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Christopher Titus and Billy Gardell?! To benefit kids?! With tickets starting at $35 (and taxx deductible), there's no reason not to get involved.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
Don't freak out, folks... Hannibal Buress is in town. Perhaps the most hyped young comic of the past year, Buress is an absolute force, and he's doing the Meltdown show on Wednesday. You know where I'll be! Elsewhere, Tiger Lily is looking as good as ever, while a bunch of UCBNY shows are taking over the west coast for a week.
LAst Laugh: This Week in Comedy
With the weather changing back into reasonable, it's the perfect week to get out and...stand in line to get back inside a building... At any rate, you can make laughter your sunshine, or just spend your day looking out your office window, so by the time these shows start you're so sick of the sun you can't stand it.
