A motorcyclist crashed into a parked car last night, suffering very serious injuries but not harming the people who were sitting in the vehicle, reports the OC Register. The accident happened at about 6:50 p.m. on Newport Boulevard near 26th Street. The motorcyclist, who hasn't been identified yet, was traveling northbound, and was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment following the crash.

The Hells Angels are all over the news these days. First, they sued a Silver Lake clothing company for its quaint repurposing of their name, and now four members of the gang's San Diego chapter are being sought by law enforcement for their involvement in beatings that took place in 2007 and 2010 . The LA Times reports that the four men -- David Dabbs, 41; Dustin Harroun, 30; Stephen Sanders, 42, and Troy Scholder, 30 -- took part in assaults on a club member and a club associate in El Cajon.
Police Officer Involved In Funeral Procession Collision Has Died
One of the two police officers involved in a collision during a funeral procession for another officer died of his injuries Thursday, according to L.A. Now. Hawthorne Officer Andrew Garton, 44, died while being treated at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He had been riding on his motorcycle as part of the procession for Manhattan Beach's Officer Mark Vasquez, who died of cancer.
Motorcyclist Killed by Driver at Geoffrey's Malibu
As a driver was pulling out of Geoffrey's in Malibu last night, he struck and killed a motorcyclist, reports the Daily News. The driver, 50-year-old Terry Turner, was visiting from Oklahoma and was found to be sober after undergoing tests. The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Malibu whose name hasn't been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspicion of DUI For Driver in Deadly Ocotillo Motorcycle Crash
The driver of a Dodge Avenger that swerved into a group of 21 motorcyclists on Saturday in Ocotillo, killing five people, has been arrested on suspicion of DUI. 36-year-old Carlos Ramirez Bobadilla of Mexicali, Mexico, was arrested after CHP officers smelled alcohol on his breath, reports KTLA. Blood test results are pending.
Traffic Alert: LAPD Motorcyle Cop Crash Tying Up 110 Fwy
A crash involving a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer has caused significant traffic delays on the southbound 110 Freeway between the 101 Freeway and Slauson Avenue, according to KTLA. "The crash was reported around 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Slauson Ave." however the cause of the spill is not known. The officer was unharmed in the crash, reports LA Now. Carpool lanes on both sides of the 110 Freeway in the area of the crash were shut down to accommodate the investigation.

Nationwide, traffic fatalities in 2009 declined by so much, it hit the lowest level since 1950. Still, 34,000 deaths on the road doesn't mean the problem is solved, but things could be heading in the right direction as more people buckle up, car safety features improve and roads receive better design, according to the federal government.

This Motorcycle + Damage = Possible Suspect
On Monday, just before 1:00 p.m., Lauren Charles Black, a 62-year old resident of Los Angeles, was crossing Glendale Blvd at Rockwood Street (map below, looks to be in or near Historic Filipinotown) when he was struck by motorcyclist going northbound on Glendale Boulevard. The suspect left the scene of the accident without stopping to identify himself or render aid to the fallen victim and Mr. Black was taken to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. He is now on life support.
Jump Without Pier
As dusk was falling over Santa Monica Pier on Friday night, Ronnie Renner was rising. The motorcycle daredevil broke the Guinness World Record for highest air ever attained on a quarterpipe, which had been constructed near the pier's ferris wheel and roller coaster. A pair of towers, each 55 feet tall, were used by the crowd to estimate the height of each attempt. A team of surveyors used reflectors and lasers to confirm the official measurements.
LAPD Motor Officer Struck Down by Car
An LAPD Motorcycle Officer was sent to the hospital this morning when he was hit by a Toyota Camry at 5th Street and Stanford Avenue in Downtown LA between San Pedro St. and Central Ave. "The extent of the officer's injuries was not immediately known, but he was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived," reports the LA Times. The cause of the accident or who is at fault is still not known.
