Female UCLA Student Sexually Assaulted On Campus Near Residence Hall
University police say that a UCLA student was sexually assaulted near a residence hall on campus early this morning.
The male suspect called out to a female student and spoke to her briefly before he sexually assaulted her, according to a UCLA news release. The victim was able to run away and call police, and she is now recovering. The incident happened around 2:20 am this morning, and the suspect fled the scene before police could arrive. It isn't clear whether the victim knew the suspect or not.
The assailant was described as a white man with short brown hair and blue eyes, who is 6 feet tall and weighs around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing shorts and a white T-shirt. A spokeswoman for the campus police ">told LA Weekly that they do not believe that this sexual assault is connected to the two others that occurred on campus this fall.
A creepy side-note is that the steps where the student was assaulted used to be unofficially called the "Rape Trail" until some feminists decided to rename them the "Saxon Steps," according to a Daily Bruin article.
